Email tag line reinforces forest management
Submitted by Beth George on February 22, 2012 - 3:23pmIt is almost like hearing the disclaimers for the drug ads when tag lines get tossed on our emails. There are things like "If this message is received incorrectly, please destroy. . ." or similarly daunting warnings. But I got one today that not only was out of the ordinary, but also reinforced their company product and the entire forest industry. And, in Northern Minnesota, we know reinforcing the forests is good for the economy and our lungs.
I got a message from a UPM employee and the disclaimer was great. It read: "It is okay to print this electronic message. Paper is a plentiful, biodegradable, renewable, recyclable, and sustainable product. Working forests are good for the environment and provide clean air and water, wildlife habitat, and carbon storage." I feel almost guilty that I didn't print the message (but I did print 10 copies of the attachment)!
